A long-distance bus journeying through northeastern Brazil was involved in a tragic accident, resulting in 15 individuals fatally injured, as stated by local authorities.
Details of the Crash
The bus was carrying approximately thirty people when it veered off and slammed into a sandbank, causing it to flip on its side. The number of injured individuals transported to local hospitals remains unclear.
The journey originated in the state of the state of Bahia and concluded in disaster in Saloá, located in the adjacent state of Pernambuco.
How It Happened
Initial reports indicate that the driver lost control of the bus, entering the oncoming traffic lane and hitting boulders on the shoulder. Subsequently, the driver returned to the proper lane but then collided with a sandbank, which led the vehicle to overturn.
The reason behind the crash is currently under investigation. The operator suffered minor injuries and tested negative for alcohol consumption.

The governor expressed that the administration is offering assistance for the rescue operation and victim identification. In a statement, "Our team is closely monitoring the incident and sincerely regret the loss of lives, the injuries and the suffering of all the families."
