Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel arrives on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been intense.

Season 1 introduces a large cast of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for the new season vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Could Angel Dust escape his tormentor? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I believe that me being a devotee of the series implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on October 29.
